My Art Media Lab, MAML, is a community hub and resource for artists and media makers who care about social change and social justice.
MAML provides services and resources such as exhibition opportunities and providing screening and educational materials for journalists, media makers and artists from engaged community members.
MAML has been a trusted community educator, collaborator, community builder and resource for the media arts world since 2012.

Mission
MAML attempts to inspire social change by empowering artists and media makers to develop and share diverse stories through art, education and cultural exchange.
MAML advocates unheard voices in Persian speaking countries and provides the resources for journalists and artists to amplify their stories. Media training includes: fact checking, media literacy and investigative journalism, community building, cultural exchange programs, educational development programs, media production and content development to all individuals and organizations.
Our mission is to stimulate, foster and promote public interest in the art as well as cultural exchange. Providing access to the eastern cultures and opening up a space for international dialogue is another mission of MAML.
Leadership
My Art Media Lab’s founder, Pezhman Tahavori, began this journey in 2012 with the opening of “Touch Art Gallery” in Cambridge, Massachusetts. However, prior to work at his gallery, Tahavori was, and continues to be, a reputable journalist focusing on the Iranian social and political climate. Through his journalistic work, he promotes education and cultural advocacy through media and publications as well as producing workshops.
Pezhman Tahavori is an Iranian journalist, fact-checker, and entrepreneur. He has expertise in creating and curating content as well as producing art exhibitions. He excels in investigative journalism, building strategic planning, implementing projects, media literate and fact-checking content.
As a founder of Touch Art Gallery, Tahavori initiated an artistic club, SoArt festival, (Social Art) aiming at bringing together artists who are interested in social issues and social change. The first and second SoArt’s festival took place at Harvard University, Cambridge MA, in 2019 and 2022.
Tahavori graduated with a master’s degree in “Law and Diplomacy” from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Medford, MA, in 2009. He also received a master’s degree in “International Relations” at Tufts University in 2008. His fields of study at Tufts were “International Law and Organizations”, “Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding”, and “Human Security”.
In addition, Tahavori has managed the Iranian School of Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, affiliated with George Mason University in 2012. There he taught Negotiation, Mediation, and Coalition Building at the Iranian School of Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding at GMU and Eurasia Foundation
Before immigrating to the USA, Tahavori worked for 8 years as a journalist and served on the editorial and managerial boards of “Iran Newspaper” a major daily news agency in Iran.
Tahavori is passionate about cultural diplomacy, social change, cultural exchange, creating a more open society, and empowering the people of that society. His priority is bringing about social change through art and public diplomacy as well as building an open and free society through fighting misinformation and disinformation which are both supported by his education and work experience.
