Factors contributing to the spread of poverty and organized corruption in Iran

May 31 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

“My Art Media Lab”, in collaboration with “The Iran Circle”, is honored to present a profound discussion on ‘Factors Contributing to the Spread of Poverty and Organized Corruption in Iran,’ featuring three esteemed scholars in the fields of economics and social science.

During this session, Sharmin Meimandinejad, Nader Habibi, and Michael Azimi will draw upon their extensive field and academic expertise to examine the factors driving poverty and organized corruption in Iran. In recent years, we have witnessed the rapid decline of the Iranian rial, severe inflation, widening class disparities, and significant harm inflicted upon the middle and lower classes of our nation. Concurrently, there has been a notable surge in various forms of organized corruption, with numerous embezzlement cases even making headlines in Iranian media.

Join us for an insightful exploration of these pressing issues and a discussion on potential solutions to pave the way for a brighter future for Iran.

Speakers:

  • Sharmin Meimandinejad, Founder of Society of Students Against Poverty (Imam Ali Society)
  • Nader Habibi, Professor of Practice in the Economics of the Middle East at Brandeis University
  • Michael Azimi, Scholar in the field of Economy at Brandeis University
