Media Review: Mehr News Agency and Shooting at Social Structures with Fake News

Today, there is no more effective weapon than fake or disinformation to destabilize society and undermine social structures. Disseminating fake news and framing information in a way that people perceive it as reality undermines long-term social cohesion, government legitimacy, and social stability.

Suppose the media in the United States were to suppress the true facts and conceal the truth in the face of school shootings, which occasionally occur in the country, and label the individuals introduced by the media as eyewitnesses as mere actors who have been paid for misleading. In order for biased and freedom-supporting media to promote such a scenario, they must employ the processing of “conspiracy theories” and attribute such incidents to fabricators and hidden hands, constructing a fabricated reality for the audience.

Although this may seem far-fetched and contradictory to the mission of the media, which is to “discover the truth,” it happens in the real world. If we are not vigilant, they will depict the truth as they wish it to be for the audience. For example, consider this report by the Mehr News Agency published on December 17, 2022, titled “Celebrities on an Irreversible Path/For a US Visa!”.

In this report, the political secession of “Mehr News Agency”, without mentioning the author’s name, claims, “US visas have been granted in exchange for the blood shed by Ali Karimi and Hamid Farrokhnejad.” They state, “During the recent disturbances, the phenomenon of celebrities getting involved in the situation has taken a quantitatively and qualitatively different form, and regardless of the fact that a greater number of them focused on expressing their virtues regarding the incidents that occurred, some of them also crossed the boundaries of insolence and subversion in their speech and behavior.”

The writer of this report continues as follows: “This time, the story went beyond the realm of intellectual figures, and celebrities officially played a role in a scenario that was designed by the enemies of the ruling system after 43 years of testing all methods of confrontation with the Islamic system. According to their claim, they incited Generation Z through their intellectual references, namely celebrities. These celebrities, who grew up within the structures of the same system, gained fame through the money and resources provided by the government. Now, they are using all their influence to promote the enemy’s narrative and ignite the flames of chaos, aiming to escalate the protests from dissent to riots and turmoil. This includes Ali Karimi’s field presence, his repeated incitement to violence, and strikes, as well as the deceitful acts of individuals like Ali Daie, who participate in scenarios of assassination and support for riots, the exposure of a collective hijab of female actors, and the presence of some actors in anti-revolutionary gatherings outside the country under the flag of the despised Pahlavi regime, and so on.”

The report by Mehr continues: “However, this level of disruption and audacity in speech and behavior can only be justified based on two factors. Either they have been promised significant rewards for their role, such as what happened with Ali Karimi, where virtual activists claim that he was granted a US visa in exchange for the bloodshed, or they must believe that the system’s work has come to an end and have convinced themselves that their actions are necessary to break all bridges behind them. Otherwise, they would never behave so recklessly, knowing that the consequence would be the destruction of their professional future. The most recent example of this behavior was the hypocritical and unethical escape of Hamid Farrokhnejad, who, despite acknowledging no enmity towards the Islamic system and pledging commitment to the legal authorities, fled the country and made disrespectful statements, creating ambiguity about the projects in which he had participated and backstabbing his colleagues and friends. Hamid Farrokhnejad, who once had a record of playing various revolutionary and ideological roles, betrayed 80 million Iranians for the sake of his son’s single strand of hair!”

This absurd presumption was not only limited to a few ignorant celebrities who engaged in disruptive behavior. It also included a considerable number of naive young people who took to the streets, incited by figures like Karimi, and perpetrated a widespread wave of violence against the people and security forces. They posed threats, intimidated the public, destroyed private and public property, engaged in extreme vandalism, verbal and literary violence, and more, all based on the illusion that the system’s reign was soon coming to an end, and there would be no consequences for their violent actions. They took advantage of this situation as much as they could. Now, they should await their trial and an uncertain future, feeling remorseful. Meanwhile, they can observe the carefree behavior of those who threw them into the fire of this catastrophe.”

This article can be examined from several perspectives, as reported by the Mehr News Agency:

1. The claim of Ali Karimi and Hamid Farrokhnejad receiving a US visa in exchange for their involvement in the recent protest movement with the slogan “Women, Life, Freedom” is completely disinformation. Neither Ali Karimi nor Hamid Farrokhnejad need any of these actions to obtain a US Green Card. They were eligible under the Green Card law for individuals with extraordinary abilities (EB-1A) and could have easily obtained their Green Card. Many national athletes, well-known artists, scientists, and others who were at a much lower level than Ali Karimi or Hamid Farrokhnejad have received their Green Cards in the past years based on the same law and are living in the United States or traveling between Iran and the US. Therefore, it is clear that this news is completely fake and disinformation.
2. This report exemplifies the clear indifference of a media outlet to the ethical principles of journalism. “Impartiality” is one of the ethical principles of journalism that has been completely ignored by the political secession  of the Mehr News Agency and they have acted like anonymous tabloids and bulletins that are produced and published to destroy the reputation of individuals and celebrities, serving the propaganda machine.
3. The claim of celebrities like Ali Karimi being associated with the Iranian people’s protest movement in exchange for receiving a US visa is a misleading claim that has been raised to manipulate public opinion. 

Mehr News Agency has acted in this report just as a media outlet would hide a shooting in American schools and address its witnesses as hired individuals. Such fake and misleading reports are produced with the aim of attracting the audience’s attention and manipulating public opinion. It is important for the vigilant audience to know that government-affiliated media, through design and targeted programming, try to depict reality in a way that suits their intentions. They try to create a “cognitive crisis” and divert public opinion, creating a space where they can hide the truth.

“Critical thinking” is the way to counter the government’s disinformation campaign. It is a campaign that has deceived the audience and seeks to make the audience recognize the truth as they have designed it.

مرور رسانه‌ها؛ خبرگزاری مهر و شلیک به ساختارهای اجتماعی با اخبار جعلی

امروزه برای بی‌ثبات کردن جامعه و متزلزل کردن ساختارهای اجتماعی، هیچ سلاحی برنده‌تر از اطلاعات جعلی و یا فیک‌نیوز نیست. پخش کردن اطلاعات جعلی و فریم‌بندی اطلاعات، به گونه‌ای که مردم واقعیت‌ها را براساس آن بشناسند، در بلند مدت چیزی از همبستگی اجتماعی، مشروعیت حکومت و ثبات اجتماعی باقی نمی‌گذارد.

فرض کنید رسانه‌ها در امریکا در مواجهه با تیراندازی در مدارس، که هر از گاهی در این کشور رخ می‌دهد، بیایند اصل ماجرا و حقیقت را «کتمان» کنند و افرادی که توسط رسانه‌ها به عنوان شاهدان عینی معرفی می‌شوند را مشتی بازیگر بخوانند که در قبال دریافت پول، حاضر به دروغ‌پردازی شده‌اند. برای این که رسانه‌های جانب‌دار و موافق آزادی سلاح بخواهند چنین سناریویی را پیش ببرند، باید با پردازش «تئوری توطئه» و نسبت دادن این گونه حوادث به دروغ‌پردازان و دست‌های پنهان،‌ به ساخت حقیقتی جعلی برای مخاطبان روی آورند.

این اتفاق اگرچه ممکن است دور از ذهن و مغایر با رسالت رسانه‌ها که همان «کشف حقیقت» است، به نظر آید اما در عالم واقع اتفاق می‌افتد و اگر هوشیار نباشیم، آن‌ها حقیقت را آن‌گونه که دوست دارند، برای مخاطب ترسیم می‌کنند؛ برای نمونه، به این گزارش خبرگزاری «مهر» که روز ۲۶ آذر ۱۴۰۱ با عنوان «سلبریتی‌ها در راهی بی بازگشت/ برای ویزای امریکا!» منتشر شده است، نگاه کنید.

گروه سیاسی خبرگزاری مهر در این گزارش، بدون درج نام نویسنده، با طرح این ادعا که «ویزای امریکا در ازای خون‌های ریخته شده به علی کریمی و حمید فرخ‌نژاد اعطا شده»، آورده است: «در جریان اغتشاشات اخیر، پدیده ورود سلبریتی‌ها به ماجرا به لحاظ کمی و کیفی شکل متفاوتی به خود گرفت و قطع نظر از آن‌که تعداد بیشتری از آن‌ها در خصوص وقایع پیش آمده به اظهار فضل پرداختند، برخی از آن‌ها مرزهای گستاخی و ساختارشکنی را نیز در گفتار و رفتار خویش درنوردیدند.»

نویسنده این گزارش در ادامه نوشته است: «این بار داستان فراتر از فیگور روشن‌فکری بود و حضرات سلبریتی رسماً در سناریویی بازی کردند که زمینش را دشمنان تابلودار نظام پس از ۴۳ سال آزمودن همه روش‌های مقابله با نظام اسلامی تعیین کرده بودند؛ و آن به‌زعم آن‌ها، برانگیختن نسل z از طریق مراجع فکری آن‌ها، یعنی سلبریتی‌ها بود. سلبریتی‌هایی که در ساختارهای همین نظام رشد کرده و با پول و امکانات همین حکومت به شهرت رسیده و حالا همه هنرشان را در ضریب دادن به روایت دشمن و هیزم آوردن برای آتش معرکه به منظور تغییر فاز اعتراض‌ها به سطح آشوب و اغتشاش به خدمت گرفتند؛ از میدان‌داری علی کریمی و تحریک و فراخوان‌های مکرر او برای خشونت و اغتشاش و اعتصاب گرفته، تا دروغ‌پردازی امثال علی دایی در سناریوی کشته‌سازی و حمایت از اغتشاشات، تا کشف حجاب جمعی از بازیگران زن، تا حضور برخی بازیگران در تجمعات ضدانقلاب در خارج از کشور با پرچم رژیم منحوس پهلوی و… .»

در ادامه گزارش مهر آمده است: «این حجم از ساختارشکنی و وقاحت در گفتار و رفتار اما تنها بر مبنای دو مؤلفه قابل توجیه است؛ یا در قبال این نقش‌آفرینی مزد دندان‌گیر و قابل توجهی به آن‌ها وعده داده شده، نظیر آن‌چه در خصوص علی کریمی رقم خورد و به قول فعالان مجازی، ویزای امریکا در ازای خون‌های ریخته شده به وی عطا شد، یا می‌بایست پیش‌فرض تمام شدن کار نظام آن‌چنان در ذهن برخی از سلبریتی‌ها تبدیل به باور شده باشد که آن‌ها را به چنین ساختارشکنی‌ها و شکستن همه پل‌های پشت سر متقاعد کرده باشد، و الا در صورتی که چنین احتمالی برای آن‌ها مطرح نمی‌بود، هرگز این اندازه بی‌پروا به رفتارهایی که پیامدی جز نابودی آینده حرفه‌ای آن‌ها نخواهد داشت، تن نمی‌دادند.آخرین نمونه این رفتارها، فرار منافقانه و بی‌اخلاق حمید فرخ‌نژاد بود که علی‌رغم اذعان به عدم عناد نسبت به نظام اسلامی و سپردن تعهد نزد مراجع قانونی، با فرار از کشور و بیان اظهارات گستاخانه، سرنوشت پروژه‌هایی را که در آن‌ها ایفای نقش کرده با ابهام مواجه ساخته و به همکاران و دوستان خود از پشت خنجر زد. حمید فرخ‌نژادی که از سویی سابقه بازی در نقش‌های متعدد انقلابی و ایدئولوژیک دارد و از سویی در روزگاری نه چندان دور افاضه کرده بود همه ۸۰ میلیون ایرانی فدای یک تار موی پسرش باد!

قربانی این پیش‌فرض مضحک اما تنها عده‌ای از سلبریتی‌های بی‌بصیرتی نبودند که با این رفتارهای ساختارشکن راه بازگشتی برای خود باقی نگذاشتند بلکه جمع قابل توجهی از جوانان و نوجوان ساده‌لوحی بودند که با تحریک امثال کریمی به خیابان آمده و حجم گسترده‌ای از خشونت علیه نیروهای مردمی و امنیتی، تهدید و ارعاب مردم، تخریب اموال خصوصی و عمومی و نوعی وندالیسم افراطی، خشونت کلامی و ادبیات رکیک و… را به این خیال در فضای جامعه رقم زدند که کار نظام به زودی تمام است و هیچ تاوانی متوجه اقدامات خشونت‌بار آن‌ها نیست، از این‌رو تا آن‌جا که می‌توانستند در این عرصه تاختند و حالا نادم و پشیمان بایستی در انتظار محاکمه و آینده‌ نامعلوم خود باشند و از سویی خوش‌گذرانی و بی‌خیالی کسانی را نظاره کنند که آنان را به آتش این مهلکه فرو انداختند.»

این روایت خبرگزاری مهر از چند جهت قابل بررسی است:

۱- ادعای دریافت ویزا‌ی امریکا توسط علی کریمی  و حمید فرخ‌نژاد در ازای فعالیت در جنبش اعتراضی چند ماه اخیر که با شعار «زن، زندگی،‌ آزادی» هنوز فعال است، یک خبر کاملا جعلی است، چرا که نه علی کریمی و نه حمید فرخ‌نژاد برای دریافت گرین کارت امریکا نیازی به هیچ‌کدام از این کارها نداشته و ندارند. آن‌ها مشمول قانون گرین‌کارت افراد خاصAliens of Extraordinary Ability (EB-1A) ) بوده و می‌توانستند به سادگی گرین‌کارت خود را دریافت کنند. بسیاری از ورزشکاران رده ملی، هنرمندان شناخته شده، دانشمندان و … که در سطحی بسیار پایین‌تر از علی کریمی یا حمید فرخ‌نژاد قرار داشتند، در سال‌های گذشته با استناد به همین قانون، گرین‌کارت خود را دریافت کرده‌اند و در امریکا زندگی می‌کنند و یا در رفت و آمد بین ایران و امریکا هستند. بنابراین روشن است که این خبر کاملا جعلی و ساختگی است.

۲- این گزارش مصداق روشن بی‌تفاوتی یک رسانه به اصول اخلاقی حرفه روزنامه‌نگاری است. «بی طرفی» یکی از اصول اخلاقی حرفه روزنامه‌نگاری است که توسط گروه سیاسی خبرگزاری مهر کاملا نادیده گرفته شده و به سان شب‌نامه‌های بی‌هویت عمل کرده است؛ شب‌نامه‌ها و بولتن‌هایی که برای تخریب چهره‌ها و سلبریتی‌ها و با هدف تامین نظر دستگاه پروپاگاندا تولید و منتشر می‌شوند.

۳- ادعای همراهی سلبریتی‌هایی چون علی کریمی با جنبش اعتراضی مردم ایران به ازای دریافت ویزای امریکا، ادعایی گمراه کننده یا misleading است که به منظور دست‌کاری افکار عمومی مطرح شده است.

خبرگزاری مهر در این گزارش درست همان‌گونه عمل کرده است که رسانه‌ای بخواهد تیراندازی در مدارس امریکایی را کتمان کند و شاهدان آن را به افرادی اجیر شده مورد خطاب قرار دهد. این‌گونه گزارش‌های جعلی و گمراه کننده، با هدف جلب توجه مخاطب و دست‌کاری افکار عمومی تولید می‌شوند. مهم این است که مخاطب هوشیار باشد و بداند که رسانه‌های حکومتی با طراحی و برنامه هدفمند، ضمن ارایه جلوه‌های جدید پروپاگاندا، می‌کوشند واقعیت را به گونه‌ای برای مخاطب ترسیم کنند که خود می‌خواهند. آن‌ها می‌کوشند با ایجاد «بحران شناختی»، افکار عمومی را منحرف و فضایی ایجاد کنند که بتوانند واقعیت را قلب و حقیقت را کتمان کنند.

«تفکر انتقادی» راه مقابله با کمپین دیس اینفورمیشن حکومتی است. کمپینی که فریب مخاطبان را نشانه رفته است و می‌کوشد مخاطب حقیقت را آن‌گونه که آن‌ها طراحی کرد‌ه‌اند، بشناسد.
